The library is designed as a safe and introvert place, devoted to reading and concentration, with diffused light. Opened to the public trough a big glazed vestibule, invites to enter and move within a system of continuous floors connected by ramps running around the large central triple height space. The perimeter walls of the library are compositional and spatial elements. These walls work actually like a fully equipped space where accommodate niches, shelving and reading areas. The big “shell” is a formal and functional element: gives the building a great tectonic value, working as well as bioclimatic envelope and for the accommodation of the vertical connections, stairs and lifts, technical and services rooms and all the wiring.  A system of internal balconies allows the interactions between different levels, while the more intimate and private rooms are translucent cubes projected on the great internal void, rythming space and functions.
