The plot lies on a residual area, a fuzzy space stranded between the city and the park. The first issue was to solve this urban and landscaping situation creating new public spaces and connecting the city border to the park in a clear way. The intervention aims to answer the needs of the neighborhood working on public space and its appropriation, enhancing the existing qualities of the area.
The Cultural Centre gently rests on the contour lines of the plot; the covering is made by the park extension over the building roof while the central path symbolize the virtual threshold of the complex: the entrance of the Cittá Alessandrina neighborhood is not related to a particular place or space but opens up to all the surroundings avoiding hierarchies that the near urban context would hardly accept.
