Ex-Ferretti Area
The residential building project in the former Ferretti area of Settimo Milanese involves the construction of a system of three buildings grouped around an open courtyard, with the aim of creating a public space on a domestic scale.
Data
The project involved the regeneration of the disused industrial site and the creation of new spaces in direct relation to the public functions already present in the immediate context. In this way, it has been possible to activate an urban regeneration process capable of revitalising an important part of the city centre.
The materials reference the character and memory of the former industrial buildings. The basement and penthouse floors of the in-line blocks are clad in exposed brick, while the intermediate floors have a plaster finish and Corten steel window frames. The urban villas on the upper level are designed with a metal shell that covers both the roof and the façades, creating an effect of continuity.
