Ex-Ferretti Area
The project for the residential complex in the former Ferretti area of Settimo Milanese involves the construction of a system of three buildings grouped around an open courtyard, with the aim of creating a public space with domestic dimensions.
Data
The project involved the regeneration of the disused manufacturing area and the creation of new spaces in direct relation to the public functions already present in the immediate context. In this way, it has been possible to activate an urban regeneration process capable of revitalising an important part of the city centre.
The materials create a reference to the character and memory of the former industrial buildings. The basement and penthouse floors of the in-line buildings are clad in exposed brick, while the intermediate floors have a plaster finish and Corten metal frames. The urban villas at the top have been designed with a metal shell that covers both the roof and the facades, creating an effect of continuity.
