Bologna AV Station

The Bologna AV station competition was a unique opportunity to explore new urban regeneration strategies for different areas on the edge of the railway infrastructure.

The concept developed for the ‘Bovi Campeggi’ area included the design of an administrative centre, a conference hall and a linear park. An additional public space to serve the city, connected to the railway station, and an environmental filtering device in relation to the railway.

The rigorous geometry of the new urban blocks in the ‘Bovi Campeggi’ area is based on two main principles: the architectural concept of the continuous façade, which defines the front along Via Bovi Campaggi, and the typological concept of the courtyard, which structures the sequence of protected public spaces.
