The project is part of the wider plan for ‘Jinshan New Town’, which aims to develop the urban pole of Jinshan, in the outskirts of Shanghai. The masterplan proposes to integrate the environmental and morphological characteristics of the area with the expanding city, drawing inspiration from the Mediterranean culture, rich in opportunities and interactions between the waterfront and consolidated urban centres.

Specifically, the master plan for the West End area included the development of a new part of the city dedicated to seaside facilities, accommodation activities and functions related to the Zoo Park. A contemporary reinterpretation of the ‘Riviera’ concept, bringing together a wide mix of functions and placing wellness and sport at the heart of the project.
