Ex-Taliedo Warehouse – Milan

Ex-Taliedo Warehouse – Milan
The area of the abandoned Taliedo warehouses in Milan, formerly used as an airfield storage depot, is now an important part of the urban regeneration of the Rogoredo-Santa Giulia area. The masterplan foresees the construction of new buildings on the south-eastern edge of the area, leaving the western and northern parts for a public park.
Data

The implementation plan focuses on the balance between the built environment and public spaces, with the creation of a 2.5 hectare public park and a sports centre. The functional mix, including residential, social housing and commercial activities, is distributed around three open courtyards, characterised by mixed typologies of rows and towers, which complete a new urban fabric between the settlements of Via Medici del Vascello, the Merezzate district and Viale Ungheria.

The public park, with facilities, services for the neighbourhood, a playground and a car park, is conceived as a large and comprehensive intervention, destined to become the core of the redevelopment of the entire area. An important element is the sports centre dedicated to indoor sports such as climbing and tennis.

The project aims to limit traffic areas, emphasise green spaces and slow mobility, with the aim of creating a car-free neighbourhood. Vehicular access is provided by a circular road with access to the underground car parks.
